It combines the excellent electrical and mechanical properties of polyester film with the convenience of a tape format, making it ideal for a wide range of electrical insulation applications.

This tape provides reliable electrical isolation, thin profile for tight spaces, and good thermal resistance. It is widely used in the manufacture and repair of transformers, coils, motors, and wire harnesses, as well as for electronic component insulation.

Q1: What is the difference between polyester tape and polyimide (Kapton®) tape?

A: Polyester tape offers excellent electrical properties and is more cost-effective for applications up to Class B/F temperatures (130–155°C). Polyimide tape is rated for higher temperatures (up to 260°C) and is used in more demanding thermal environments. Polyester is the preferred choice for most general transformer and coil applications.

Q2: Can this tape be used with varnish impregnation systems?

A: Yes, polyester tape is compatible with most standard varnishes. The tape provides a barrier layer while allowing impregnation of the underlying windings.
